But apart from that, I’m taking it a bit easy in terms of video and crossdress work, but as mentioned before, I’m taking this one step at a time and slowly returning back to normal capacity, but I’ve got a new outfit planned for Cecilia in the coming weeks. Just need to sort out the monthly bills first.....
And last but not least, my inner “brony” has been on the hunt yet again for more merchandise.
At the moment, all the major retailers such as Big W and Target are having their annual toy sales, and with the Pony Wedding still fresh on the minds of the fans, I tried my luck at finding a bargain or two, but not through their respective retail stores.
Instead, I tried my luck online and came across Target's online store, and by surprise, I found some new items including the Princess Cadence talking doll. Hopefully I should have these in a week or so due to the large backlog of orders that Target has been getting from the sale. So fingers crossed....
And that should do it for this blog post, but before I finish up, I like to share this bit of news coming out of the Australian brony community very recently.
Bronies on Australian Radio
The Bronies Australia website (link) reported last week that one of the radio network programs, which won't be named in both show and company, decided to have what was called a "shits and giggles" stab at the fandom. I won't repeat what was said as the article should give a clear picture, but in my opinion, the presenters should wake up and check their facts.
Don't take a page from what Fox News is doing by bringing the fandom into a bad light. If you're going to report on the fandom, do it right the first time round like Erin Burnett and the CNN team, who did an outstanding job on their report of BronyCon and the fandom. No bullshit, no lying, just straight up facts.
The local radio stations here in my area have since pulled the program, some even in the "get that shit off the air" style of the late Kerry Packer by cutting off the show during broadcast, from their schedules due to the huge amount of complaints received from that segment jamming their phones and flooding their inboxes.
But in hindsight, not all fans are like that, and I seriously hope they can get their facts right and issue an apology, not only to the fans, but also for the way they acted.
It will be also interesting if a complaint is made to ACMA over this, because the last thing the company needs is another appearance before them after the multiple breaches they encountered before with one of their other programs. But in my opinion, that was an uncalled for "low blow" to the fans and to the Australian brony community. A kick in the guts as the would say. This is something that Media Watch would be interested in looking into, but with ACMA, it's all enforced undertakings and no fines. A toothless tiger as they would say.
But alas....it doesn't work that way.....(sighs)......
